Pineywoods Artisan Collective Art Show Rules
1. Eligibility & Entries
- Open to all artists; each entrant may submit up to 5 artworks.
- All work must be original and created by the artist entering the show.
- Collaborative pieces must list all contributing artists.
2. Artwork Requirements
- All media welcome (painting, sculpture, mixed media, photography, etc.).
- Maximum size: [insert dimensions, e.g., 48” x 48”] unless otherwise approved.
- All 2D artwork must be ready to hang (wired or with appropriate hardware).
- 3D works must be stable and able to stand/display safely.
3. Submission & Display
- Each entry must include a completed entry form, photo of the artwork, and entry fee.
- Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of their work on the specified dates/times.
- The Pineywoods Artisan Collective reserves the right to refuse work that is not properly prepared for display.
4. Sales & Commissions
- Artwork may be for sale or not for sale (NFS); please indicate on your entry form.
- The Collective retains a 20% commission on all sales.
- Sales tax is the responsibility of the artist.
5. Liability
- All reasonable care will be taken, but the Pineywoods Artisan Collective and event organizers are not responsible for loss or damage.
- Artists are encouraged to insure their own work if desired.
6. Promotion
- Artists grant permission for images of their work to be used in event promotion, social media, and press.
7. Theme
- The theme for this year’s show is “Life in the Pineywoods.” Judges will consider how well each piece reflects this theme.
8. Awards
- Prizes or ribbons will be awarded at the discretion of the judges and organizing committee.
9. Agreement
- Submission of an entry constitutes acceptance of all show rules.
Art Show Judging Criteria
Judging will be based on the following criteria (scored 1–10 each):
Originality & Creativity
– How unique and innovative is the work?
Technical Skill
– Mastery of the chosen medium and technique.
Composition & Design
– Effective use of space, balance, color, and overall design.
Presentation
– Quality of framing, mounting, and overall finish.
Emotional Impact
– Does the piece evoke feeling or tell a story?
Interpretation of Theme: “Life in the Pineywoods”
– How well does the work reflect the show’s theme?
Judges will provide feedback at their discretion. All decisions are final.
